Renee Bartkiewicz is both a registered Clinical Counsellor and Art Therapist.

 

It is Renee’s goal to create a strong therapeutic relationship where an individual feels seen, heard, and understood, and inspired to live the life they deserve.

 

In her inclusive, creative and collaborative practice she sees individuals that present with a variety of issues.  Renee specializes in trauma work, and has extensive experience with both male and female survivors of sexual abuse.

 

From a feminist, person-centered perspective she strongly advocates a holistic mind-body connection that generates client vitality and possibility.  Her eclectic skill set includes EMDR and SRT and focuses on a strength-based, mindful approach that emphasizes compassion and empowerment.

 

Renee has worked for 20 years with both male and female adult individuals presenting with these concerns:

  • Trauma
  • Female survivors of sexual abuse
  • Male survivors of sexual abuse
  • Support for partners of trauma survivors
  • Depression / anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Life transitions
  • Gender and sexuality concerns

 

In addition to private practice, Renee is actively involved in Vancouver’s non-profit community.  She continues to counsel with the BC Society for Male Survivor’s of Sexual Abuse, as well as the Woman Against Violence program at Burnaby Family Life.
