Claudette’s emphasis is on helping individuals and families understand themselves better so that they can live more fully and with greater meaning in life.

 

As a Canadian Certified Counsellor, she is committed to helping clients make the changes they envision for themselves. She believes that people have the capacity to navigate through difficult times and connect with a hopeful future. Supporting people on their healing journey is a privilege for her.

 

Claudette has been the Administrator of two large French Immersion School and has worked as a French teacher and Principal for the past 18 years. As a school Principal, Claudette has navigated through many difficult conversations and has acted as a consultant and facilitator with parents, staff and students. In addition, she has spent time working with seniors facilitating activities and organizing daily outings.

 

She has completed her second Master’s degree, with a focus on:

  • Education/Career & School Issues

  • Senior issues
  • Sexual orientation and gender identity awareness (SOGI)
  • Female survivors of sexual abuse
  • Male survivors of sexual abuse

Ongoing professional development is a high priority for Claudette to develop, hone and research her skills, knowledge and recent gains in the field. She has a special interest in healing, palliative care and midlife issues.

 

Building trust and a strong therapeutic alliance is of upmost importance in the healing process and providing an environment of understanding, respect, and confidentiality is paramount to her as a counsellor when working with individuals and families.

 

Prior to her work within the education sector, 25 years of working within the hospitality sector has given her an appreciation and a culturally rich working experience within diverse environments, which has included spending an extensive amount of time in India studying yoga and meditation.
